What is Microblading?

What is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent form of cosmetic tattooing or permanent make-up.
This is a cosmetic procedure for our eyebrows which applies color pigments that mimic the look of a real hair through the use of a thin and fine handheld blade with a tiny blade.
Although this is more associated with people with sparse and undefined eyebrows, it’s also used by those who want to refine their look and minimize time it takes to get-ready each morning and day.
What do people microblade?
Although microblading for eyebrows is the most common and the most popular type of microblading, there are other places of the face where this procedure and method is employed.
For example, you can choose to have your lips tattooed, or have a semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo that is created through a method that is very similar to microblading one’s eyebrows.
The convenience of having semi-permanent make up done for such essential parts of the face far outweighs the few hours it takes to receive the procedure and to receive touch-ups.
Different Types of Microblading & Semi-Permanent Makeup
Microblading & Shading
Using a precision tool, the microblade artist goes into replicating fine strokes of hair onto the brow. This creates the look of natural hair follicles on the eyebrow, and achieves that best 'I just woke up looking fabulous' look.
Eyeliner Tattoos
Eyeliner tattoos combine the technology and techniques used in microblading to achieve a semi-permanent eyeliner close to one's natural lashline. For some, this can reduce hours in getting ready.
Combo Brows
Combo brows combines the precision of microblading with adding pigment, to create a "made-up" look. This look is similar to traditional eyebrow tattoos that featured a fuller, "done" look with more color and stronger brows.
Lip Blushing
Lip blushing is a semipermanent tattooing method designed to enhance the natural color and shape of your mouth by depositing small amounts of pigment onto the lips for color and shape.
Ombre Powder Brows
Similar to the combination brows, powder brows, or ombre brows as they're called, feature pigment that has been inserted into the skin on top of the microblading strokes. This gives the effect of a very "made-up" brow that is clearly defined. This is recommended for those who want to cover up a previous make-up artists' work.
Saline Tattoo Removal
Saline tattoo removal is not microblading, technically, or a form of applying semi-permanent makeup. Rather, it's a method of removing semi-permanent makeup that was previous present. This is recommended if you have old tattoos or microblading that you want to remove.
