What is the use of an eyebrow kit?

If your eyebrows could use a little more help in the shaping department, then a popular solution would be by buying a brow stencil kit. As someone with blonde hair and light-colored eyebrows, I often find myself envious of women out there with beautifully structured and shaped brows, while forgetting to use an eyebrow pencil or powder when going through my own makeup routine. While browsing through Sephora recently, I was approached by a makeup artist who asked me about my brows – it might have looked self-explanatory that I didn’t do much with them and she asked if I ever used a brow stencil.

Brow stencils might look scary or unnatural, but I learned that they are wonderful tools in shaping a brow. Since my brows are naturally thin, I always felt the brow stencils would be too dramatic for me, but when she pulled me to an end cap with a brow stencil kit, I was intrigued. Once I saw the results of what she did, I was instantly aware of how shaped, filled-in brows made me look younger and really framed my eyes. The good news was that the kit was very easy to use and the variety of stencil shapes means women with brows of all shapes and sizes can use the kit to create their ideal brow arch and look.

What are eyebrow kits like?

The kit I purchased was the Anastasia Beauty Express for Brows and Eyes, included in the kit are numerous brow stencils, a brow brush, and three products to use when shaping and filling in the brows: brow wax, powder, and a highlighting shadow. There are two kits to chose from, including blonde or brunette. Here’s how to use a brow kit like this one, to create your perfect brow shape:

How to use an eyebrow kit

  • Select the brow stencil. Each stencil has three dotted lines so you know exactly where to place it on the brow. One line is lined up with the beginning part of the brow, the second line shows you where the arch needs to be and the final line indicates where the brow should end.
  • Apply a small amount of wax to the brow – and the skin — if you need to extend the brow out to the outer eye. The wax helps the powder stick to the brow and keep it in place.
  • Align the stencil and begin to shape the brow with the powder. The cutout on the stencil shows you exactly where you need to apply the brow powder!
  • Apply the highlighter shadow right under the arch to enhance the eyes.

Brow kits are ideal when you want to create perfect looking eyebrows – and the kits come with everything you need to do so. Aside from Anastasia Beverly Hills, Sephora also carries brow kits such as Too Faced Brow Envy Brow Shaping Kit, Sephora Collection Arch It Brow Kit, and Urban Decay Brow Box, all of which are great products.
